Don't shoot the messenger, but Okular is slow for me too.
KPDF was lightening fast, Okular is super slow. Any PDF will do.
One thing that might help would be to implement background rendering for Okular
if it isn't already implemented. Sometimes when I click on a page, it just
takes forever to load. However, if I'm reading a page, does Okular go ahead
and prerender the rest?
If not, there should be an option to enable this.
