i'm pretty sure i'm seeing the same thing. if you grab any of the MBTA bus
maps, the left/right part of the pages get trimmed.
for example, the map here:

http://www.mbta.com/uploadedFiles/Documents/Schedules_and_Maps/Bus/03434Emap.pdf
disabling trim margins allows the entire thing to be viewed in the main pane.
