Just a bit of background note: the internal XML are not just "annotation storage", but contain any local (meta)data associated with a document. These include last 10 history steps, last zoom level, locally created annotations, changed values of form fields (if any). > So here is the question: what are your thoughts on this? I'm not opposing to the idea, but I'm not conviced either that would be a good solution. Some (most?) people expect to be able to save and share the annotations with friend/boss/collegue/fiance(e)/etc. We provide a share mode for them (even if Okular-specific, but there isn't a better solution so far). -- Pino Toscano
