Summary: Image snippets while reading documents Product: okular Version: 0.8.1 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: okular-devel@kde.org ReportedBy: sam...@damagehead.com Version: 0.8.1 (using KDE 4.2.1) OS: Linux Installed from: Fedora RPMs While reading documents (pdf for example), a lot of times a figure/imae that the text refers to will be on the next/previous page. So you would need to scroll up and down repeatedly to correlate the text and the figure. So i think it would be nice if we were able to mark an image in the document, so that the marked image would appear as a floating image and then we could scroll back to the text, never having to scroll back down, as the marked image is right there floating and i would be able to do all my cross referencing right there. And then when i am done with that image, i could close that floating image. This would provide a great deal of readability enhancements. The features that could be added to the floating area could be zoom in, zoom out, resize, scrolling. In addition, as we are already able to add bookmarks to documents and okular remembers the bookmarks everytime the document opens. We could also automatically display the floating image for a particular page based on the previous session. So you don't have to mark an image everytime you are reading that page. We could also do similar stuff for text if proves as useful. I hope you find my request as exciting as i imagine it to be. I believe that this is one of those small things that really make a huge difference.
