A good file to test this with can be found here: http://www.topeak.jp/images/pdf/babyseat/M-TCS01-J-5-05_000.pdf (Interestingly, the Japanese inside this file is displayed correctly in Okular on my system, while KPDF/KDE3 apparently has problems with it. As for the poppler-data package, I haven't found it yet for openSUSE 11.1. Am working on it.
