How much time do you wait?
The thing is: when you select "Select All", it has to extract all the text from
the pages, if not extracted already (eg by doing a search). But nevertheless,
it should not take that much.
Can you try the "Select All" with a document with 1-2 pages?
And, can you select the text using the rectangular text selection?
