Some tools (I forget which) will look for this GPT label and backup partition table if the first sector doesn't contain a valid partition table (but perhaps an OCFS2 or ASM label), and "restore" the GPT backup partition table that is in the last sectors of the LUN, trashing the OCFS2 / ASM label.
