• Energi Mega Persada (EMP) has recently signed a gas sales and
purchase agreement (GSPA) with VICO (Virginia Indonesia) in
Kalimantan . EMP, from Semberah TAC block, would sell 3.65
billion cubic feet (Bcf) or 10 million cubic feet per day (MMcfd)
of gas to VICO at an average price of US$5.9/MMbtu (million
British thermal unit).
• The contract is for one year gas supply. The price of
US$5.9/MMbtu is higher than the recent contract at
US$4.1/MMbtu for Kangean gas. This price level can be renegotiated
upon the contract extension.
• Semberah block also produces 1,000 bopd (barrels of oil per day)
and sells 10 MMcfd of gas to PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara),
state owned power company, in Tanjung Batu, Kalimantan .
• In 1H08, EMP produced around 10,200 Bopd of oil and 86MMcfd
of gas. The company is targeting production of 17,400 Bopd of oil
and 88 MMcfd of gas in FY08E, which we believe to be very
aggressive. However, EMP is confident in achieving the oil
volume target with more production from Kangean, assuming that
they get the FSO (floating storage oil) in operation by October
2008.
• EMP's largest development is in the Terang Sirasun Batur (TSB)
fields in Kangean block. The company expects first gas from these
fields to start following in 1H10 for 300MMcfd.
