Bakrie Sumatera's Net Profit Soars 793.43% ------------------------------ *Wednesday, 30 April 2008 18:43:03* StockWatch (Jakarta) - PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (UNSP) recorded net profit of IDR165.043 billion (IDR44 per share) during the period of January-March 2008, risng very sharply by 793.43% from IDR18.473 billion (IDR8 per share) in the same period of 2007.
Bakrie Sumatera's net profit was up significantly after the company's net sales surged at IDR677.815 billion from IDR264.270 billion due to increase in sales volume and CPO selling price. The management said in the company's financial report submitted to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Wednesday (30/4) in Jakarta, the sales increase also boosted the company's gross and operating profits at IDR276.113 billion and IDR221.881 billion each from only IDR99.347 billion and IDR70.316 billion. At the same time, the company booked other revenues of IDR5.354 billion, chiefly because of foreign-exchange gain of IDR30.774 billion versus foreign-exchange loss of IDR9.056 billion. (yan/bw)
