Can listed companies beat their 2007 performance this year? cuz most of big
caps are heavily dependent on commodity prices (like coal, nickel, etc) like
inco, bumi and antm. Banks are struggling, and telcos are facing a very
competitive (almost unhealthy) business. I read telkomsel has lowered its
tariff recently.
Today, March inflation rate scares the hell out of investors (not BUMI/BNI FR
as some tought, but they add up the fear). 2007 was a golden moment for IDX,
but I dunno about 2008. High commodity prices is actually a TIME BOMB for the
overall economy. Why? Because Indonesia still imports lots of things like foods
and oil. The government spent lots of money on gasoline import.
Thanks to the fed rate cut, Indonesia (people) now are poorer than last year.
Well, don't be to pessimistic though, you still can make money but things will

we may see a technical rebound. Sell on strength.
I always believe that banks are leading indicator, until these giants (BBRI,
BBNI, BBCA, BMRI, and others) show us some strength, I suggest you save your
money for something else. When It happens, you'll know where the real bulls
are. ^^
