Salam, Gandhi Indonesia's Astra Agro 9 month earnings more than double on higher CPO price JAKARTA (Thomson Financial) - Indonesia's leading crude palm oil (CPO) producer PT Astra Agro Lestari said Thursday its nine months to September net profit rose 106 percent from a year ago, driven by higher CPO selling prices. The company booked a net profit of 1.29 trillion rupah in first nine months against 623.06 billion rupiah a year ago. "Our average CPO selling prices rose 64.6 percent year-on-year to 5,673 rupiah per kilo in the first nine months," said head of investor relations Tjahyo Dwi Ariantono. He said the stronger prices helped offset a 10 percent drop in CPO sales volume to 626,139 tons. The weaker sales volume was a result of declining output. The CPO and its derivatives made up 98 percent of Astra Agro's revenue, with rubber accounting for the remaining 2 percent. Ariantono said CPO alone made up 86 percent of sales. In the first nine months, Astra Agro sales rose to 4.12 trillion rupiah from 2.80 trillion rupiah a year ago.
