In Unix, devices already created in directory /dev/... but CP/M or DOS didn't have it. in Unix/Linux you can see all of your computer devices there... so the mechanisme to treat all of computer resources as devices is heritaged from unix, and CON is one of the devices name. if i am not mistaken, you could try use this command to show file content just like using command type: COPY filename CON: or COPY filename CON (or perhaps it would only run on old DOS). another name of magic word (because that's simply a device) is: LPT1:, COM1:, etc... > MAGIC #2 > For those of you using Windows, do the following: > 1.) I already tried, and i conclude it as easter egg from microsoft. when you try to reopen it using another text editor, it will show normally, but if you reopen it using notepad, you will find it weird. at first i feel confused, and then when we add another texts (after reopen) a save it back, then reopen using another text editor, you will see what happened. The text will become an Unicode text, there's additional 2 char before the text (i think to inform that the rest is an unicode text), it's FF FE. and the word 'Bush hid the facts' is stored in ascii format instead of Unicode format, that's why this happen. converting from normal text into unicode text is triggered by that sentence. so it's only a easter egg to BUSH :) > MAGIC #3 > Microsoft crazy facts > This is something pretty cool and neat...and unbelievable. ..
