transportasi batu bara PTBA akan naik 25% sehingga
diperkirakan akan menekan keuntungan bersih PTBA
10-20% lebih rendah dari tahun lalu.
PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam has agreed on a new
coal transport tariff rate with state-run railway firm
PT Perusahaan Kerta Api Indonesia (KAI), Bukit Asam
corporate secretary Milawarma said.
The new rate is 230 rupiah per ton per kilometer
and "is effective retroactively from Jan 1, 2006,"
Milawarma told XFN-Asia.
He said Kereta Api is expected to carry 1.8 mln
tons of coals from Bukit Asam's mine in Tanjung Enim
to a loading port in Kertapati in South Sumatra this
year, and another 7.1 mln tons of coal to Tarahan in
the nearby province of Lampung.
Last year, Kereta Api carried 1.6 mln tons of
coals to Kertapati at a tariff rate of 183
rupiah/ton/km and 6.3 mln tons to Tarahan at 138
rupiah.
Milawarma said the distance from Tanjung Enim to
Kertapati is about 180 kms and from Tanjung Enim to
Tarahan it is 410 kms.
Kereta Api has recently cut its coal transport
volume as it sought new tariff rates, putting Bukit
Asam at risk of failing to meet its export commitments
as well as its domestic supply commitment to the
Suryalaya power plant.
