Kristina and I have just uploaded the latest
version of draft-fett-oauth-selective-disclosure-jwt. In
this version, we address issues raised both in this working group
and by other interested parties. Other issues are still under
discussion in the issue
tracker.
Although the draft is relatively fresh, we have already seen a tremendous interest in this spec from various sides, including EU and US-based initiatives, governments, and large companies. Many projects already consider SD-JWT a serious alternative to more complex credential formats.
We think that this working group is an excellent place for the
further development of the draft. After all, SD-JWT is based on
JWT that was defined in this working group, and is expected to be
widely used in OAuth and OAuth-based technologies. We would
therefore like to ask the working group chairs to consider a Call
for Adoption.
While we know of four implementations already, the draft is (to our knowledge) not yet being used in production. Should the working group decide that substantial changes are required, now would be a good time for that.
