For those not on Discord, Facebook, or the various other fractured reporting 
channels for rare bird sightings; please pardon the delay in my sharing this 
news on the listserv: 

An apparent RED-FOOTED BOOBY, a pending New York State first record, flew over 
the roof of my Astoria, Queens apartment at 6:58 this morning. It circled 
vaguely northeast, disappearing out of sight behind a building. Birders in the 
Bronx, Connecticut, and along the north shore of Long Island should be on the 
lookout!
