With all that having been said, the Whimbrel show has gotten even more amazing. In the late morning today, at high tide, there were 25 roosting on the high beach between the two buildings of the Silver Gull Club. It's a fairly short walk from the fisherman's lot, but yeah there's that parking issue.
If you have a plan regarding parking, keep in mind that a nice weather weekend is coming, and expect lots of beach goers. Going early is a good idea. It's possible the high tide roost may work at midday - if no Silver Gull maintenance people are doing anything - which ultimately led to the Whimbrels scattering westward today.
