OBS: Lucie Young, Sol Shamilzadeh, Sharron Crocker, Signe Hammer, and many
others.

The Western Tanager discovered in Carl Schurz Park on December 11th by Jay
Zenmann continued today, favoring a large Siberian Elm next to the Catbird
Playground. The bird visits sap wells made by a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

The Carl Schurz Park Conservancy has a blog written by Lucie Young. Here's the
post from December 2020, with info about and photos of the Western Tanager:

-to the park was rescued late this afternoon by the Urban Park Rangers and
taken to the Wild Bird Fund. Many thanks to Sol Shamilzadeh for making all the
necessary phone calls and to Signe Hammer for keeping curious children and pets
away from the bird until the rangers arrived.
