At around 12:30 there was an adult male Summer Tanager along the Big Woods trail in Southampton. This trail is also known as the Marguerite Crabbe Greeff Wildlife Sanctuary.
In case anyone chooses to take a look, I marked two “Xs” on the trail with sticks where the bird was, about 100 yards from where it intersects with a trail down to the Scallop Pond marsh. Should you decide to continue down towards the marsh, make sure you have your permethrin-treated clothing on.
