Yesterday (4-18-19) John Turner and I took a tour of the Brookhaven landfill including a drive to the top. Much to our surprise we observed at least 6 ravens (they all appeared paired up).
Ravens were observed feeding and being chased by various gull species. I’m not aware of any raven nests immediately adjacent to the landfill but know they have been in Patchogue and Farmingville (town hall) and other surrounding areas in recent years.
