The pond is open to the ocean with resulting large mudflats. Thousand of trees swallows, hundred of terns (least, Forsters and Common), sanderlings, semipalmated sandpipers , least sandpipers, Black bellied plovers, semipalmated plovers, piping plovers, yellowlegs, egrets, cormorants, gulls and probably more.
