Onderdonk Avenue, Manhasset NY 11030. All are invited, free of charge.
Public transportation users: This location is a half-mile walk from the
Manhasset LIRR station.
Scott Joshua Dere will present “Wild Bird Photography”.
Scott Joshua Dere will discuss how to make the sharpest images possible
while photographing birds in the wild using super telephoto lenses. Scott will
teach a live presentation of techniques on his own equipment while giving a
slide show presentation on his best Birding images. He will review etiquette
in the field, proper clothing, and how to travel with all the necessary
equipment as well as the most important camera settings for this type of
photography. Tips will be given on how to approach birds of prey and how to
compose the best image of them in a given scene. By the end Scott will reveal
how to make a finished, refined piece of artwork by using proper exposures and
post processing methods to obtain the perfect finished image.
Scott has been using a camera since he was 5 years old. At just 13 years
old, Scott landed his first photography job as an assistant for New York Photo
Studio. For the next 17 years, Scott worked with several professional studios
and found many different techniques along the way. During this time Scott
attended college at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and received a BFA
in the Fine Arts of Photography. He also has a Master of Photography medal
from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Scott is also a member
of the American Society of Photographers (ASP). Scott currently has his own
successful professional studio in NY and is the current president of the
Professional Photographers of Greater New York (PPGNY). For the last 10
years, Scott has produced many published works for his project “The Elements of
Nature” by traveling in between weekend events and work all season long to
create some of the most amazing nature images today.
