Canada Goose - 70+ Reservoir Gadwall - 10 to 12 Reservoir Mallard - small numbers Reservoir Northern Shoveler - around 20 Turtle Pond, others at Reservoir Ring-necked Duck - 2 male NE Reservoir (Deb after lunch) Bufflehead - 7 (5 males & 2 females Reservoir) Hooded Merganser - 10 (5 males & 2 females Reservoir, 2 males & 1 female Turtle Pond) Ruddy Duck - fewer than last week Reservoir Pied-billed Grebe - SE Reservoir this morning Mourning Dove - many American Coot - 4 Reservoir Ring-billed, Herring, & Great Black-backed Gulls - Reservoir Bald Eagle - circling over Turtle Pond while drifting south (Deb after lunch) Cooper's Hawk - low flyover Turtle Pond (Deb before walk) Red-tailed Hawk - flyover Red-bellied Woodpecker - residents Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - young male Pinetum Downy Woodpecker - feeders Northern Flicker - Belvedere Castle Blue Jay - many Black-capped Chickadee - many Tufted Titmouse - many Red-breasted Nuthatch - Pinetum White-breasted Nuthatch - 6 on the walk, another 5 at the Reservoir earlier Golden-crowned Kinglet - 2 (Pinetum & Cleopatra's Needle) Ruby-crowned Kinglet - Cleopatra's Needle Hermit Thrush - Pinetum American Robin - many House Finch - Boathouse parking lot Palm Warbler - fenced area with chrysanthemums north of King of Poland Yellow-rumped Warbler - Pinetum (Gillian Henry, MD) Song Sparrow - several (Tupelo Field, Reservoir) White-throated Sparrow - many Dark-eyed Junco - not many Northern Cardinal - residents Blackbird sp. - flock of 40-50 over Tupelo Field Ed Gaillard reported an Eastern Phoebe at Willow Rock this morning via twitter #birdcp.
