I observed an immature golden eagle feeding on a deer carcass early this morning along the southbound lane of the Taconic State Parkway, approximately 2.5 miles south of Route 23 at the Taghkanic/Claverack town line. The carcass and eagle were on the grassy road shoulder, about 30 feet from the road.
