Maybe this news has already been disseminated via other social media channels,
but I thought it warranted a post here as well:
An eBird statewide rarity alert went out Thursday of a VERMILLION FLYCATCHER,
reported from Erie County. Granted, not a confirmed sighting (no photos), but
one would think that even the possibility of a rare bird the magnitude of a
Vermilion Flycatcher would generate some interest, follow-up, and a post on the
Genesee listserv, at the very least. I can't be the only one who received the
eBird alert, so if anyone has further news to pass along it would be much
appreciated.
