There was just an ARCTIC TERN (2nd summer-type most likely, given the dark bill on an otherwise very adult-like bird) on the sandspit at South Jamesport Park, on Peconic Bay in Jamesport. It was around for about 8 minutes before flying off to the south in the company of a couple of 1st-summer Forster's Terns.
The Forster's have just returned after ~15 minutes, but I haven't seen the Arctic again. Good Birding -Doug Gochfeld.
