Isaac Grant and I hit up Breezy Point late this afternoon in search of seabirds after reading Doug Gochfeld's report from Wednesday. Amazingly, we were treated to a single MANX SHEARWATER about 150-200 yds off shore traveling east to west continuing past the jetty around 6pm. Despite scanning for an additional hour or so, the bird did not return. Despite a good number of 1st and 2nd Summer Common Terns, we didn't encounter any other terns of interest. -Mike Shanley Staten Island, NY
