I decided to stay local today and spent a couple of hours birding Ft. Tryon Park. There are a few people who bird here occasionally, but it is an underbirded area. I saw 42 species, including 13 species of warbler. Highlights included a Pewee, Blue-headed, Red-eyed and Warbling Vireos; and Chestnut-sided, Canada, Wilson's, Blackpolls, Black-throated Greens and Blues, Parulas, Yellow and Magnolia Warblers and a lot of Redstarts. 2 Swainson's Thrushes. Good birding! Dawn Hannay
