Just a reminder - the spring turkey hunting season opens Friday, May 1st
and runs through the 31st in all upstate counties north of the
Bronx-Westchester County boundary.

Hunters are allowed one "bearded" turkey per day; two per season. Hunting
is permitted from one-half hour before sunrise to noon.

Just so you are aware, turkey hunting is permitted in some state parks and
other NGO conservation areas. The hunter may be well camouflaged. You might
not see one sitting on a stand. Here's some advice - check with park
regulations to see if hunting is permitted; while in the field wear
brightly colored clothes and do not try out your turkey call imitations .
