This morning in Riverhead I had an adult bald eagle behind the aquarium -
and apparently there was a subadult that had been there as well not too
long before I arrived. About 30 minutes later, further west along the
River were two sub-adults soaring high in the sky. I've heard there is at
least one more adult near the aquarium as well - probably 5-8 BE's in that
area on any given day.

Also in Riverhead along the Peconic River at the fishing access station
(just west of Roadhouse Pizza) were red-necked grebes on Saturday. None
were present this morning, but plenty of wood ducks and common mergansers,
among other waterfowl.

If anyone's interested in BE pictures, they can check them out on my
