Spent a little over an hour with others today scouring the kingbird's usual hangout at Floyd Bennett Field but came up empty. I'm still holding out hope that he was able to survive on the abundant bittersweet, bayberry, juniper and other berries around Floyd until the next thaw. Perhaps he got tired of the high cost of living in NYC and headed back west …
