Don't Hang up Your Binoculars!

The Hawk Migration Association of North America (HMANA
<http://www.hmana.org/> ) seeks more observers for Winter Raptor Surveys.
Full details, protocol and data forms are available on the HMANA website at
http://bit.ly/12nwuJl . A Winter Raptor Survey requires a minimum of 2
people following a pre-defined vehicle road route one to three times each
winter. Routes are typically 10-100 miles long selected for likely diurnal
raptor occurrence. Survey season is late-November to early March depending
on when wintering birds are present in your area.

Data are recorded on forms (available at the above website) and then entered
online into the Winter Raptor Survey data base. The survey's goal is to
collect, by means of uniform methods, wintering raptor information that can
be useful to researchers, land management and planning agencies, and
regional birding organizations.
