While searching for (and dipping on) the Common Ground-Dove at Jones Beach this morning several birders pointed out a Yellow Warbler they had found in the hedgerow by the Coast Guard Station. (Not sure who first found / identified it.)
Bull's Birds lists 24 October as the late date for New York but two November records are in eBird, 2 November 2012 at Drier-Offerman Park in Brooklyn and 9 November 2012 at Massapequa Preserve in Nassau County. So if someone goes out and finds this bird tomorrow it will be record late for the state. I got some pictures of the bird, one of which I've shared on the New York Birders Facebook page.
