On Saturday 3/29 highlights of a Saw Mill River Audubon trip to Edith Read were:

1 American Widgeon
18 White-winged Scoter
20 Long-tailed Duck
1 Osprey
14 Common Goldeneye
2 Hooded Merganser
1 Red-throated Loon
2 Common Loon
11 Horned Grebe
1 NORTHERN GANNET (sitting on the water)
1 Hairy Woodpecker

Then at Marshlands

3 Osprey
2 American Oystercatcher
1 Greater Yellowlegs
1 Eastern Towhee
2 Eastern Phoebe
1 Great Egret

And finally at Sheldrake Lake/Mamaroneck Reservoir

2 Osprey
3 ruddy duck
20 ring necked duck
2 northern shoveler
1 fox sparrow

On Sunday 3/30 in a brief late afternoon stop at Croton Point late afternoon 
were


1      Drake blue winged teal in the puddles at ball field (uncommon for the 
park)

1       Drake northern shoveler in the puddles at ball field (uncommon for the 
park)

1       Wilson's snipe
1   fox sparrow
20+/-      green winged teal

Other reports from yesterday had up to 4 snipe at airplane field and 8+ 
American woodcock in the evening along the eastern edge of main landfill; and 
there are still good numbers of both adult and imm. bald eagles around.  There 
also is a pair of Osprey that appear to be nesting on the light stanchion in 
train parking lot.   Don't know status of RH woodpecker that's been in the park 
all winter.
