Now that the ponds in Green-Wood Cemetery are thawed (for the time being,
anyway) it has attracted a few nice species of waterfowl. Among the usual
suspects today were also Wood Duck, a pair of Redheads and Ring-necked Duck.
The Redheads were a first for me in Green-Wood Cemetery in my nearly 20 years
of birding at that spot.

Due in part to significantly less foot traffic that our city parks, Green-Wood
Cemetery is an excellent place to find migrating woodcocks. Right now they are
relatively numerous. This morning we practically stepped on one that was slowly
tottering along beneath a Himalayan Cedar near Samuel B. Morse.

Good birding,

Rob
