For anyone interested a Drake Common Teal (Eurasian) or if you prefer,
Green-winged Teal (Eurasian) was in the company of 14 American Green-winged
Teals at Brookville Park.

Other notables in the area included 1 Black-crowned Night Heron and 2
Greater Yellowlegs.

Don't forget to sign and share the online petition (
http://www.change.org/petitions/sally-jewell-restore-the-west-pond-at-jamaica-bay-wildlife-refuge-new-york).
This is a chance to show unity in saving a gem that is a critical
freshwater ecosystem.

Plus, on a lighter note. Don't forget the West Pond, hosted MEGAs like the
Broad-billed Sandpiper. By restoring the West Pond, you may just provide
the habitat for the next MEGA...perhaps a Terek Sandpiper, think how that
will look on your state list :)
