After I saw a Red-tailed Hawk catch a pigeon yesterday in front of my building, I knew there were birds to be seen if I braved the cold.
A few minutes after I entered the park I was at the pond and I saw a Peregrine Falcon fly over the pond and scattered the gulls that say there in the winter. It then flew north away from the park. I later moved over to the baseball fields at the northwestern corner of the park and saw a flock of Rusty Blackbirds foraging around the trees and benches where there was little or no snow. About a half hour later I was on the dirt path just south of the marsh and I saw a pair of Common Ravens soaring over the center of the park.
