It seems that every day this week Curt and I have been drawn to the Hudson in Newburgh in hopes of finding some "goodies" and we have not been disappointed - - - - - typically there have been good numbers of Bald Eagles of varied ages to observe and enjoy and two days ago I found 11 REDHEADS, all drakes. Today the rewards were an estimated 3,000 assorted gulls of the Greater Black-backed, Herring and Ring-billed variety and a single immature ICELAND GULL of that warm cafe-au-lait color that I love so much.
Great things have been found here before and so we keep looking.
Good birding,
Ken McDermott
