Hi Everyone, I was by the Coast Guard Station around 1pm checking for wintering ducks/ late shorebirds - not much going on with that - saw lots of Brant, (huge flock flying in), Canada Geese, Gulls and Comorants. (I noticed that the "spit" can be hopping one minute and be totally dead later on.) Stopped by the last U-turn by the "pine trees" and saw a large flock of redwing blackbirds 30+, a flicker trying to chase them away and a hermit thrush going between the grass and shrubs.
Posting pics soon to my blog http://longislandbirding.blogspot.com/.
