I am pleased to report that in Sullivan County, Ulster County and at least
parts of Orange County not only is there no decline, but in some cases
increases.  Chestnut-sided Warbler is actually abundant at Wolf Brook and
increased at the Bashakill.  Cerulean Warbler (Bashakill)  and Hooded Warbler
are both showing increases at those locations.  Ovenbirds are abundant
everywhere. Grosbeaks, Orioles and Tanagers seem to be in good numbers as well.
Cuckoos are the best in a couple of years. American Redstart does seem to be
down at Wolf Brook, but is everywhere at the Bashakill.  Scott Baldinger
reports similar numbers on his Ulster County weekly bird walks.  John Haas
