Had a beautiful day at the JB Marsh Planting. Highly recommend volunteering:

And got to do some bird watching the rest of the day. Plenty of horseshoe
crabs but unfortunately no Red Knots in the vicinity. However, did have
Black-bellied Plover and Ruddy Turnstones. Large flocks of Semipalmated peeps
have arrived. Lots of Laughing Gulls, Fosters Terns, Mute Swans, Great Egrets,
and some Glossy Ibis and nesting Ospreys. JB preserve is filled with the
sounds of Yellow Warblers, Catbirds, Redwings and Tree Swallows. Also a few
Towhees, Brown Thrashers, and House Wrens. One poorly marked Dunlin and a few
rafts of impressively breeding Ruddy Ducks in the East Pond. South of the
West Pond were Yellow-crowned Night Herons and Little Blues. On the north side
were a few Willets and a couple of chattering Clapper Rails - got to see one
jump up into the air for a few seconds.

Happy Birding,
