Date: May 10,2013
Location: Alley Pond Park and Jamaica Bay

Today I led the NYC Audubon birding group on a 'Peak Day Migration' walk.
We birded both Alley Pond in Queens and Jamaica Bay. We saw 77 species. The
timing was perfect as the warm front brought us many birds. The highlights
were: 14 warbler species (Blue-winged, Parula, Yellow, Magnolia, BT Blue,
BT Green, Yel,rumps, Blackburian, Blackpoll, B&W, Redstart, Ovenbird,
N.Waterthrush, C.Yel-throat). They were many of each. We saw the big three
(S.Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, B.Oriole). We also saw 3 Vireos, 4
Woodpeckers, 4 Blackbirds, 4 Thrushes.
A great day to be out.
Best,
Joe Giunta
