Not to sound too curmudgeon, but seems like just another idiotic non-reality
“reality” show that I personally hope will not get made, it’s freak birders
instead of housewives, duck hunters, speed cookers, pawners, pickers, axers,
alligator shooters, Kardashians, ad nauseum. Why indulge this inane exercise
and why is it on this cite?

Back to birds at Bryant Park 8:30 to 8:50 a.m. this morning: had one of the
woodcocks near maintenance shed south side (40th street), also a hermit thrush
and on the lawn a palm warbler (FOS).

I plan on writing to Seth, not as a potential contestant (I meet none of the
"qualifications"), but as a normal, well-groomed, intelligent person who enjoys
birding as a way to enjoy nature, have fun with friends, and embark on an
occasional trip to chase down a bird on my personal "Most Wanted" list. I hope
some of you will join me in responding to this request in a similar fashion.

Hi - I work for Lucky Dog Films a TV production company based in Silver
Spring, MD. I'm currently casting a new reality TV show featuring birders.
We are looking for passionate, birders that love to seek out and find
unusual birds. If you think a life without birding is not worth living...
we want you. If you're a bit eccentric, quirky, nerdy, compulsive and have
an over-the-top personality, we want you. We're looking for a group of
people that compete against other birders to be the best birder in the
country! The more the bizarre the better. The less clean-cut, the better.
We want unusual characters that are birding geniuses! If you think you fit
the bill (pun intended) Please send us a brief description of your unusual
personality and obsession with birding and a photo or a link to a 2 minute
video telling us about yourself. We want crazy birders!!! Send an email to
[email protected]

Thanks!
