I viewed a nice looking CACKLING GOOSE in Riverhead this afternoon at about 2:00 PM. The Goose was showing a perfect, white collar around the base of its neck. It was feeding along the north side of Sound Avenue, just east of the CR-105 intersection. There were at least 1,000 Canada Geese in this field, but this handsome Cackler was the only uncommon individual among the herd.
I did note an odd Canada Goose with a light yellow bill. Another photo to add to my "Odd Canada Goose" folder.
