The Clay-colored Sparrow (CCSP), at Pelham Bay Orchard Beach was seen
today by Mike Russo, Glenn Davis and I. The bird was in the general
location it was previously reported (near the toll booths ) but on the
strip close to the lagoon. The bird was quite secretive at times and
PATIENCE, is required in waiting for it to venture out into the open.

In the same area we saw 2 Great Egrets. I believe one was seen on
Sunday's Bronx CBC, so it was not missed on count day. I checked the
Canada Geese flock but did not find any Cackling although there were a
couple of LESSER candidates.

Later at Van Cortlandt Park, I had the Barnacle Goose (BRNG) on the
Parade Grounds. No Cackling on the field, but the flock was
noticeably smaller today, so it could be in the area with other
Canada's.

Sent from somewhere in the field using my mobile device!
