It must have been nice weather for flying last night, because there were a lot more birds in the Ramble this morning than yesterday.
At Tupelo Meadow, a large number of female and juvenile Redstarts. I often had a half-dozen in sight at once. Various other warblers there, including Chestnut-sided, Northern Parula, Canada, and three Confusing Fall Warblers that I have photos of and will try to identify later. Also a hummingbird intermittently around the red flowers (lobelias?) in the fenced area in the southeast part of the meadow. At the east path along the Upper Lobe, a Worm-eating Warbler, Black-and-White Warbler, more female/juvenile Redstarts, an Eastern Kingbird; and a very brown medium-sized thrush with an eyering, whose chest I couldn't see, probably a Veery. At Azalea Pond, more Redstarts, including the first male I've seen this summer, and a Black-and-White Warbler. -Ed Gaillard Manhattan -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
