Bobby Kurtz reports from the North End of the East Pond at Jamaica Bay, that
there is no sign of the American Avocet. I am not sure if anyone has checked
the South End or West Pond for the bird.
Good and responsible birding!

Subject: 7/16 American Avocet @JBWR Queens County...

Just found an American Avocet on the East Pond at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.
Feeding and moving south on the west side on the North End past Dead Man's
cove. Near the area where "Rufous Ruff" used to hang out.

"Rufous Ruff" is still here and late yesterday I refound the Reeve, though I
have not seen yet this AM. I'll have photos and additional details on my
observations posted on my blog...perhaps later today.
Good and responsible birding!
