I had not heard nor seen the Kentucky Warbler at my usual patch in Rocky
Point (Suffolk County) since Wednesday morning, 27 June - this despite
being out there most days. I assumed it had moved on, but I heard a
Kentucky singing in the same spot this morning at about 6:30. I did not
hear it when I returned to that area at the end of my walk at 7:45, and I
did not see the bird at all today.

At one point a Carolina Wren was singing in the same general area - this
was a nice clinic, as the warbler's song is sometimes described as being
reminiscent of the wren's.

For reference, I park in the DEC parking area a little to the east of the
corner of the Rt 25A bypass and Veterans (aka Broadway) - about here:
40.945806,-72.919185. I heard the bird while standing at the intersection
of the wide trail from the parking area and the first bike path to the left
(East) - about here: 40.943845,-72.918195. It sounded like it was
somewhere to the NE of that trail intersection.

I'll probably try to get out there a little earlier tomorrow to see if I
can actually see the bird again.
