Yesterday, a peregrine falcon was perched on a post about ½ mile north of
the western end of the parking lot at Cupsogue. Today, an osprey (with a
fish ) landed on the platform at the western end of the parking lot, and a
pair of oystercatchers were seen just on the rocks below the seal
observation area. Yesterday produced 120 harbor seals; today 136 were seen.
Photos are available (of the seals) at

The osprey are typically back about this time; the oystercatchers are about
10 days earlier than the earliest I’d seen then over the past 6 years
