I was at Jones Beach this morning and it was quite slow even though the winds were out of the NW (but quite light). Raptors were few and far between, though a Cooper's Hawk was lingering around the median along with some Merlins. At the hedgerow at the Coast Guard Station all of the usual suspects were present - but the hightlight was a white-crowned sparrow. Additionally a spotted sandpiper was hanging around the dock. When I was driving home crossing the Robert Moses Causeway I spotted two dueling Peregrine Falcons.
