In the interest of fairness, the credit for initially spotting and identifying the Spruce Grouse that was seen on the NYSOA field trip to the Massawepie Mire, should go to Mike Greco, an up and coming Ornithologist who got his initial training at Hudson Valley Community College. Mike is continuing his studies this fall at ESF.
Mike is the person who first saw the bird and let out the "Hey Look". Joan did not get us mixed up; we were together and she couldn¹t really tell who spoke first. It was fun to see my name mentioned in a posting, but Mike deserves the credit. It was a fun trip.
